Fantastic Cradle of Rome Review!
28.11.2008 In Nintendo DS / By RSGAngel (RSG)

Great news! Cradle of Rome has just been reviewed by our friends over at Reviewgraveyard.com...and received a perfect 10/10!

There were collective whoops all around the office!

Calling it one of the most addictive games they've played, the review does come with a warning...

"Fantastic game... but be warned - you may end up shutting yourself away and withdrawing from society for quite some time in your quest to rebuild Rome."

julians says: Granted I only played PC version, but unless portable version makes my DS dispose beer I doubt it's any better. I'm not saying the game is bad because it's not. It gets points for trying to spice up a 'match 3' theme, although I'm pretty sure build your kingdom has been tried before (but I can't seem to remember where). However it is far from perfect. And trust me I know my 'match 3' games. Bejewelled 2, Kahuna Reef, recent Green Valley: Fun on the farm, somewhere a bit of track lies Cash Cow, those are games that deserve a 9-10/10 score. (last two get 9/10 for being short as silly). Cradle of Rome is a decent enough game to keep your 'match 3' addiction in check until another big one comes. Depending on the exact port I would give it between 5/10 and 7/10.
Crackle says: I can only speak as I find. I bought this game the week it was released and played it to death till I finished it. I've since had to lend it to my mother, sister and three friends because they all got into it so quickly. It's one of those games which makes your mum realise there's a gamer in her after all even though she's in her 60's!
Aravis says: It is a great game thats for sure. I got it the moment it was released and could not put it down till I'd reached the last level. I liked it immensely but I would have liked to have more choice building Rome. It really is a pity that you can only build such a few things and that you can't build your own Rome. Still it really is a marvellous game and I've enjoyed it so much that I'm really hoping for a sequel!!!!
