This week we thought we’d do something a little bit different for Topical Tuesday. RSGTT has been running for over a year and a half now and we’ve covered a huge range of video game subjects from your favourite controller to the importance of tutorials. One of the most talked about questions to feature on Topical Tuesdays was the battle between Digital and Retail – where do you by your games from and why?
From this post, on 23rd October 2012, we collected data from both Facebook and Twitter and found that approximately 89% of people voted for retail and 11% for digital. We’d like to see how things have changed 14 months down the line, so get voting! Click the image below and leave a comment on the Facebook image.
UPDATE – 10/01/2014: After just a short time since Topical Tuesday Revisited, we counted 41 votes in favor of retail and 5 that preferred purchasing their games via digital platforms. If we were to turn that small sample into a percentage, it would be Retail: 88% – Digital: 12%. That’s a one percent increase in 14 months! Therefore, according to our careful calculations (88×14=months), the entire population will have accepted digital downloads as their preferred purchasing method in 102 years. Science*!
*Not actual science.
Well it seems digital products may have a way to go! Thanks for reading.
