I don't want NMH3.

as much as i loved NMH and as much as i will love NMH2, i'm a long-time fan of suda51 games, and i felt like with the NMH series he commercialized his games. i wish he could go back and make more "kill the past games", like Flower, Sun & Rain, The Silver Case or even Killer7

@flameofdubt: you made a really interesting post to read but i have to disagree with you on this sentence : "Not true, these games stand up on the strength of their gameplay, the uniqueness is incidental.".

Suda51 games usually are quite flawed in the gameplay department, but these flaws are intentional and they are used in a simbolic manner to comunicate something to the player. this is the charme and uniqueness that makes suda51 games so great. i'm pissed off by the fact that suda listened to the complains and removed the open world. these complains were made by people who didn't understand that the open world and the repetitivness were a critique of todays' sandbox games. probably nmh2 will be a bettere game than nmh1 but i'm sure it will be a less meaningful one. that's what i mean when i said that suda51 is commercializing is games. he should just make the games he wants to do, and not listen to the so-called fans... real fans will understand him anyway... but i suppose even suda51 needs food to eat XD

I completely agree with you on the symbolism of the overworld. As far as the unique/gameplay thing I can't remember what I was thinking at the time, and looking at that sentence now I'm not sure what I was thinking, since it seems obvious that, as you mentioned, there are some gameplay flaws in Suda51 games. Gameplay-wise with killer 7 and no more heroes, on rails shooters and hack'n'slash games have been done before with better mechanics, so it must be the uniqueness and what it is that Suda51 does that makes these games so good.

Can I ask what you mean when you refer to Flower, Sun, Rain as a "kill the past" game? I recently finished that and since there's no handy plot analysis like with Killer7 I've had to try and figure it out myself, and failed miserably. Each reveal in the ending can make sense when taken on its own but trying to have them all make sense at once just boggles the mind, or mine at least.

some of the earlier works of suda51 are often called included in the "kill the past" meta-series because they share the same charachters (often with different names/identities, but it is implied that they are the same charachter) and a similar theme. The main theme in Kill the Past titles is the necessity for their protagonists to destroy relics of their past that burden and prevent them from moving forward. Oftentimes, characters find themselves at odds with previous events in their lives that must be confronted head-on for them to be at ease.

kill the past games are:

The Moonlight Sindrome (the suda51-directed spin-off to the twilight sindrome saga)
The Silver Case
Flower, Sun & Rain
Silver Case, 25 Ward

Killer7 was going to be part of the kill the past series, some of the earlier trailers show some charachters from the other games (i remember seeing Sundance Shot from FSR), but due to the capcom influence the script of the game was heavily reworked. however, t still retains a lot of themes from the KTP games.

for some FSR plot analysis and speculations and for more info on KTP i recommend you this fansite: http://www.paradisehotel51.com/k7sin/hotelfsr/ and their forums. they recently moved from another hosting so not all their oldmaterial is up, and it's really chaotic, but i found a lot of informations.

I don't want NoMoreHeroes3, too.

There are no more closures in games these days.
Everytime they hold a single string for a sequel or prequel,
until the cow is out of milk. Some very good franchises are dead.
Sonic, Tomb Raider, Need for Speed.

I want more games by Grasshopper and Suda51, for sure.
Where is my PAL Fatal Frame 4 by the way. Nintendo & tecmo.

And where the hell, RSG, is Deadly Premonition for Europe?

DEFINETLY HOPE SUDA MAKES THIS :)

Although some people disagree, and think it will ruin no more heroes, i feel if he either makes one or not, No more heroes definetly needs concluding.
A lot of people said on how they thought No more heroes 2 wrapped everything up, to me it still felt like there was something missing and hopefully this new no more heroes 3 may just finish the story.

I still think the NMH series could have a lot to offer. The main catch being that #3 shouldn't have Travis as the main antagonist 'cause that would get old. I would love to see a spin-off of Shinobu's travels throughout Asia and how she got the belt.
Or perhaps even the chronicles of Travis' and Sylvia's lovechild haha.

World painted Blood - New Signs of NMH3
Twitterpost by Grasshoppers Offical suggest Brainstorming Rounds for NMH3. Sudas Work on his Mikami/Yamaoka/EA foursome "Shadows of the Damned" seems to be finished. Note that some heads from Cing (Hotel Dusk, Little King Story) joined the Manufacture.
