Bring a little peace and harmony into your life this Christmas by becoming an island farmer in the latest instalment of Harvest Moon. And here's the best bit - for the first time on Nintendo DS, you can play Harvest Moon as either a boy or a girl.
Players find themselves stranded on a deserted island following a disaster at sea. From there, they must start from nothing to build a new life. By growing their own farm - taking care of their own crops and raising animals - players can make a fortune, find the love of their life, get married and even start a family.
The bright and colourful 3D graphics provide a visual feast, creating a lush idyll where players can experience the excitement and challenges of nurturing an expanding family, business and community. The enhanced stylus control scheme means that even inexperienced farmers can shape their own destiny. Players can perform farming actions such as seeding, digging and watering by pointing the stylus in combinations with the +Control Pad and buttons.
You can buy Harvest Moon DS: Island of Happiness from all good stores including Amazon, Game and Gamestation.

I have always been a BIG fan of the Harvest Moon games, and finally I get to play as a Girl!
I fell in love with this game from the start, it's addictive and very very fun to play, The character design is lovely and the animals look so cute!
But my favourite thing about this game is the variety, so many crops to grow, festivals to attend and people to meet - it will keep you playing for hours!!
In my opinion the best Harvest Moon game I have ever played!

Harvest Moon DS: Island of Happiness is a wonderful game for the Nintendo DS. It is preceded by Harvest Moon DS which was a game which wasn't that of high standards.
Harvest Moon DS: Island of Happiness is the first ever Harvest Moon game that lets you pick as either a boy or a girl because as of course in the other games there was already a default gender. There is now also 3D graphics which is just what I expected after some complaints about the old graphics and how they looked just like the GBA ones. This game also lets you build a farm from scratch as you are in a deserted island which is brilliant.
So why give it a 4 star, why not 5? Well that is because of its previous games in the series. This game is alittle bit late as the plot is exactly the same as all the other Harvest Moon games. I think that Harvest Moon DS shouldn't of been published so Harvest Moon DS: Island of Happiness would of been a better game. It's a shame really because this is perfect for Harvest Moon fan wanting something new or for a casual gamer.

"Island of Happiness" surely is a fun Harvest Moon game - but overall it's not that innovative and the controls are quite annoying - the player is forced to play only with the stylus, the directional buttons cannot be used. The game itself is solid and entertaining like any other Harvest Moon game, but the next installment of the series for the DS "Shining Sun and Friends" is by far the better choice.

Harvest Moon is always an amazing series to play and Island of Happiness is definitely included. However, there are some parts of the game that makes game play more difficult or isn't suited for some players.
My main issue was using the stylus to move your character everywhere. It's an interesting style of play, but can be difficult at the start of the game, and can cause some players to be turned off from play.
This was my only real issue of the game I didn't enjoy, because it made the rest of the game more difficult in turn. However, the new characters and events were interesting to experience and has given hours of fun and entertainment, not forgetting new goals and requirements to unlock crops, and bridges to areas of the map.

I enjoyed this game greatly! I played for hours and hours, I really didnt care about the controls and I loved this game since I first played it, a real harvest moon fan buys every game even if they are rubbish controls!

The Witch Princess conjured up a prank that went too far! Now it’s up to you to restore the magic of Forget-Me-Not Valley.

Submerge yourself in a unique fantasy world with all the fantastic gameplay you know and love from the Harvest Moon series!
