Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar

The mother of all farming games, Harvest Moon returns with Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar - the latest instalment in the phenomenally successful fan favourite Harvest Moon series, offering improved farming and relationship mechanics as well as the new bazaar system which will reinvigorate the genre it started.

Harvest Moon Grand Bazaar sets the bar as the pinnacle of the farming franchise, with the addition of markets bringing a delightful structure to the proceedings.

With a brand new cast of characters and control scheme, the latest instalment features the best gameplay the series has seen to date.

The Harvest Moon story continues in Zephyr Town where there was once a world famous bazaar and shoppers from distant lands would gather to purchase goods. Unfortunately, the bazaar has now fallen into despair and very few visitors come to the weekly gathering.

You have recently moved to Zephyr Town to take over the run-down farm on the outskirts of town and hopefully, with your hard work, the town's bazaar will be revitalised and become great once again!

Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar has all the classic Harvest Moon gaming features with brand new additions!

With ten new characters and all new crops, players can connect with friends over the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection: shopping at their bazaar, helping their farming or go fishing in their streams.

We commissioned official Harvest Moon artist Higusa Matsuyama to create 30 pieces of bespoke character artwork. The artwork, available as art cards, have been grouped into sets of five cards, three portraits and two premium pieces, to be distributed as sets of five with orders from the series. The first set of cards is included with all copies of Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar. GAME has secured exclusive use of the second and third sets of cards; set two will be available with pre-orders of Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar and set three will be available with pre-orders of Rune Factory 3.

I'm a long time Harvest Moon Fan, and when I played this game I was very dissapointed. The game wasn't really what I had expected it to be, I knew it wasn't going to follow the traditional route of past HM games, but I didn't really like how this was set up.

I enjoyed the sound quality, storyline, and the nice character designs, but that's about all. I had been playing this new game for a while now, and I was getting used to the gameplay a little bit, but something that I found very annoying was the little phrase your character would say when jumping. If i'm going to use this feature [which I didn't like much either] then I don't want to hear that every single time.

Another feature I didn't like was the inability to sell animals after you had purchased them, I had looked in the game booklet to confirm this. If i'm going to play a farming game, I want the ability to buy and sell at my own choice right? Something else that I noticed was the freshness level of items. Now there was a limit to how long I could keep an item [either in my bag, or storage] in my inventory before it's no longer worth anything at all?

I also found it very hard to make money in the game, just by picking up random items on the ground in many other games, you could at very least make 500g per day. But in this game it's a challenge, since it's also a challenge to even throw items in the shipment bin.

There are may other things that I didn't much like about the game, and I was dissapointed that I had wasted my money. But overall, if you're a new player, you might like the game more than I.

I'm a dire hard HM fan, and i'll always love the series and keep on buying the new games; although I would like the games to stay a bit more traditional.
