Before I start this review I would just like to say a big thank you to NGamer Magazine for their great Nintendo mag and if it wasn't for them then I would of never have gotten some of the great games I have today.
So, Little King's Story puts you in charge of a small, poor kingdom in the shoes of the King (a young boy). The plot isn't really revealed until you get a bit into the game but your main task is to basically take over the world by defeating six other kingdoms by defeating their king.
The game reminds me of Pikmin but in an interview with the producer of LKS (Yasuhiro Wada) found in issue #43 of ONM he says:
"I think my original idea was more inspired by Sim City or Age of Empire. Pikmin is a great game and made the real time strategy genre understandable and appoachable for consumers. I love it but, to be honest, I don't think it was in my thoughts".
The character design is charming and cute and the overall graphics on the game are great. Another great thing about the game are the battles, mainly the boss fights. They work so well and with every new enemy their technique changes. Leaving you to figure out thier weaknesses. Whether that means what citizen of your kingdom you should send into battle (guard, lumberjack, farmer etc.) or knowing when to retreat at the right time the game does give you alot of replay value and challenge. You can choose from either easy, normal or hard in the settings menu.
In conclusion, Little King's Story is a great game and definately one fo the best Wii titles out there, so if you liked other games like Pikmin, Age of Empires or Sim City, this is definately the game for you.
