The wait is finally over and third-person action parkour game Cloudbuilt has hit the Steam store with a limited time 10% discount to celebrate the launch!
My names Samuel and I’m the community manager at Rising Star Games and I’d like to quickly talk a little about this game. Cloudbuilt is an exceptional title that has found a place very close to my heart over the last few months I’ve spent working with it. I’ve also grown to love the Swedish developers, Coilworks, who aren’t just a bunch of extremely talented individuals, but also hugely cooperative, considerate and passionate people. Our daily conversations are all fun and games yet these guys still manage to bring home the ‘Hardest Working Developer of the Century’ award in my eyes.
Cloudbuilt is one of the sharpest and smartest video games I’ve played in years. For me, solid gameplay is the most important thing when I’m considering buying a game and Cloudbuilt offers this on the next level. The game is so well crafted that as soon as you take control of the lead character Demi, you know you’re going to have a blast. Everything is smooth and responsive. You know when you mess up, it’s all on you. The controls take some wiggling into and once you’ve got to grips with them, they become second nature and completely immersing. Cloudbuilt gives you everything you need from the start so it is up to you to develop your skills in order to progress. The sense of achievement when completing stages is simply unrivaled in today’s usual roster of video games. Even if you’ve never ‘fist pumped’ before in an celebration of self-made success, you will when you complete that level you’ve been battling against for the last hour.
The game will challenge you, but it will never frustrate you. Alongside the solid mechanics, Cloudbuilt offers a branching story system that means players will always have a selection of levels they can be playing to complete. Even inside the levels, the game presents a variety of options to the player to overcome which helps prevent players from getting stuck. Coilworks have built a master class in modern games design and the more you play the more it becomes clear that everything has been meticulously thought about and refined over the 2 years they’ve spent building this game.
The story is as intelligent as the game design and the music is just heavenly. The composer Jacob Lincke has managed to capture the essence of Cloudbuilt perfectly in his music.
I could write forever about how much I love this game but I’d much rather be playing! A huge thank you to Coilworks for the dedication and passion you’ve shown on Cloudbuilt and I look forward to where you guys take it in the future. And to everyone else, your Steam library will never be complete without this game. Take advantage of the launch discount and buy it now!
